Smart investment in youth development and early recruitment has become the key to both on-field success and financial stability. The figures tell a compelling story,” James said.

He points to a widening top tier, with the number of players valued at 100 million euros or more rising from 14 in 2018/19 to 19 today, and the average value of the top 100 climbing to 86.5 million euros.

That trend reflects the rising influence of elite youth academies and the premium placed on players who pair top-level performance with strong resale potential.

“The teenager has become a cornerstone of Barcelona’s rebuild, blending raw creativity with maturity beyond his years. His performances in La Liga and for Spain have made him both a marketing powerhouse and an on-pitch game-changer, which further inflates his market worth,” James added.
