Alexander Isak to STAY at Newcastle Utd – bookies react

Published

Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United remains uncertain, with the striker still pushing for a move to Liverpool despite bookmakers suggesting he is more likely to stay on Tyneside.

Tensions between the two clubs are running high following Liverpool’s dramatic 3-2 win at St James’ Park on Monday night, a result that has only intensified speculation over Isak’s next move.

Bookmakers now believe the Swedish international will remain with Newcastle before the transfer window closes on 2 September. Bet365 currently price him at 8/11 to stay put, while a switch away is offered at Evens.

Dave James, odds expert at whataretheodds.co.uk, said:

“The betting markets are leaning towards Isak staying at Newcastle for now, but with Liverpool circling there’s always the chance of a late twist before deadline day.”

A move to the Saudi Pro League appears far less likely, with bookmakers quoting odds of 25/1 on that option. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is desperate to resolve the uncertainty, but the saga shows no sign of slowing down.

James added:

“Liverpool’s interest and the fallout from their win at St James’ Park have added extra spice to this story. Punters will be watching closely as the odds continue to shift over the coming days.”

With speculation mounting and the clock ticking towards the end of the window, Isak’s future looks set to be one of the summer’s defining transfer battles.
