Wolves v Manchester City bet Builder – goals the key prediction

Published

on

Wolverhampton Wanderers will welcome Manchester City to the Molineux Stadium for Saturday’s lunchtime fixture. Wolves have struggled against the Citizens in recent years, losing all of the last four encounters between these sides.

Will that streak continue today, or will Bruno Lage’s men pull off an upset here? Let’s take a look at both teams’ chances.

Wolverhampton Wanderers finally got their first win of their Premier League campaign in a hard-fought 1:0 win over Southampton. Although Bruno Lage’s men faced 12 shots in that match, they only allowed just one on target. That 1:0 win extends Woverhampton’s solid defensive run; as they’ve allowed just one goal in their last three games.

It’s important to note that Wolves are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions; they’ve won two and drawn two of those matches. However, Bruno Lage’s men have just one win in six Premier League matches; they are 14th on the league table, with six points from a possible 18. With Manchester City coming to town, it’ll be interesting to see if Wolverhampton Wanderers can extend their unbeaten run.

Manchester City had to come from behind to register a win against Borussia Dortmund in their midweek Champions League fixture. The Citizens reigned supreme, keeping almost two-thirds of the possession.

With that win, Manchester City have no losses in their last nine matches across all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s men have six wins in that nine-game stretch, including four of their last five.

As a result of their fine form, Manchester City find themselves in second-place. They are one of two unbeaten teams in the Premier League, and are just a point behind league leaders Arsenal.

On that note, The Citizens will be eyeing their fifth win in six matches today.

We would like to point out that Manchester City have been the highest-scoring side in the Premier League this season. Pep Guardiola’s men bagged 20 goals in six league games; they’ve scored at least six more goals than any other Premier League outfit.

With that in mind, Manchester City’s matches have mostly been on the high-scoring side; as seven of their last eight games saw at least three goals scored. Also, we’ve mentioned that Manchester City won the last four encounters between these sides.

We should also point out that they scored 13 goals in those four games. Four of the last five meetings between these teams saw at least four goals scored, with three of those games going over 4.5.

For this reason, we’re going with the over 3.5 goals option here, this pays at 7/5 odds.
