White Christmas Odds revealed – Which City will get the white stuff?
It was 2010 when we last saw heavy snowfall in the UK on Christmas Day with 83% of the UK covered when we woke up that morning.
Just 6% of the UK’s stations witnessed snow in 2021 with 6% the year before – does this mean 2022 will be a White Christmas?
Technically, the last two 25th December’s have seen a White Christmas, regardless of where you are based within the homeland. Best of all, bookmakers have opened markets for where you are likely to see snow at Christmas – giving an even more likelihood as to where it will land.
You can get odds of 6/4 for snow to fall anywhere on Christmas Day, where this has been shortened drastically after rumours of a colder Winter ahead.
Favourites to see snowfall are non-surprisingly found in Scotland where the likes of Glasgow and Edinburgh sit high in the betting with odds of 11/4.
This is where snow has been found by thousands of residents in 2021 as a 7am alarm was greeted by pure white across Aberdeenshire and Perthshire – confirming a White Christmas for the United Kingdom.
Snow was also found in Northern Ireland after a severe weather warning last year in more specifically County Down and County Armagh – where a similar situation could be found in Belfast this year.
You can currently get odds of 4/1 for the Northern Ireland capital to witness a snowflake or two.
Across England, Newcastle and Leeds are non-surprisingly the favourites to witness snowfall with odds of 9/2 where Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool all sit at 5/1.
Further down south, you can find London at odds of 9/2 to see snowfall at City Airport with Cardiff also looking appealing at odds of 6/1.
