Watford vs. Chelsea Match Preview – Hornets still searching for first league win of the season
Rock bottom and still without a league win this season Watford need to turn things around, and fast.
Three draws on the bounce have provided the Hornets’ with a slight glimmer of hope, but they’ll be up against it on Saturday when they face one of the league’s form sides, Chelsea.
The Blues head to Vicarage Road having won four Premier League games on the bounce, including an emphatic 4-2 win on the road at Burnley last time out. In midweek, though, it was a different story as Chelsea crashed out of the Carabao Cup losing to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Lampard rested a number of key players and to be fair to him they only lost because of a Marcus Rashford wonder goal. Frank even admitted after the game that it was a special goal and there was nothing they could have done to stop it. Apart from not concede the freekick.
Tammy Abrham is expected to return to Chelsea’s starting eleven. The youngster has nine goals to his name so far this season, despite failing to score in his last two league outings. He’s 10/3 to end his mini goal drought by opening the scoring.
Each of Chelsea’s five Premier League away games this campaign have produced over 3.5 goals and it’s 7/4 to cop once again.
With no Troy Deeney and little creativity from midfield Watford have been short on goals bagging just once in their last five games in all competitions. It’s 21/10 for Chelsea to win to nil.
Watford’s hopes of claiming all three points are pretty slim and that’s indicated in the betting as they’re 17/4 to secure their first win of the season, the draw is 10/3 while Chelsea are 4/6 to win on the road once again.
