Tottenham vs. Olympiacos: Punters ‘backing Jose to clinch win’ on European debut

Second host bottom in Group B of the Champions League as Spurs welcome Olympiacos to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night.

It’s Jose Mourinho’s first Champions League game in charge of the club, with Spurs looking to make it three successive victories in the competition. The visitors are still seeking their first win.

A disappointing start to the campaign saw Spurs throw away a two-goal lead against the Greek side, who came back to draw the game 2-2. Spurs then fell to a heavy 7-2 defeat to group leaders Bayern Munich.

They are, however, favourites to come out on top in their reverse clash with Olympiacos in London on their return to European football.

It’s currently 1/4 for a home win. And the away side are currently 10/1 to claim their first three points of the tournament.

Another draw can be backed at 5/1, while it’s 22/1 for another 2-2 stalemate between the pair.

Spurs are also seeking a third successive clean sheet after back-to-back shutouts against Red Star Belgrade. The hosts are 5/6 to keep another clean sheet on Tuesday evening.

The travelling side have just one point to their name from four group games. And that was the opening day draw with Mauricio Pochettino’s men a couple of months ago.

Daniel Podence and Mathieu Valbuena scored that evening in Greece, and they will both be looking to help their side out once again. The former is currently 18/1 to score the first goal of the game, and 5/1 to score anytime. The latter is 201/ to score the opening goal of the game and 6/1 to score anytime.

Harry Kane and Lucas Moura were on the scoresheet for the visitors that night back in September. The England striker has been given odds of 21/10 to net first. The Brazilian attacker is currently 9/2 to score the opener.

It is, however, fellow forward Heung-Min Son who is the club’s top scorer in Europe this season. The South Korean is well up there with the competition’s top forwards with five goals for the campaign. He is 10/11 to make it six Champions League goals this season.

Denting the confidence of the visitors is that the 13 goals scored by Spurs is second only to Bayern Munich in this season’s competition. The north London outfit will be looking to extend that tally on Tuesday. A victory will achieve qualification to the knockout stages with one game to spare.
