Top Team Goalscorer – The 14/1 shot flying under the radar

There are plenty of markets available relating to the number of goals a particular player will score at the upcoming Euro 2020 and I’ve spotted a couple of selections which I think are good value to try and take advantage of. 

Paul Pogba, despite his inconsistencies for Manchester United and his failure to make the desired impact at Old Trafford since his world record transfer some years ago, is an instrumental figure for France.

The 28-year-old has played very well for Les Blues in the last three tournaments, especially so in the 2018 World Cup where he was a contender for player of the tournament.

A goal in the final against Croatia capped off a superb showing throughout the month-long competition and by playing alongside N’Golo Kante (more defensively minded) and likely Adrien Rabiot in the upcoming tournament, I fancy Pogba to find the net at least once again.

The enigmatic midfielder is priced at even money with 10Bet to score 1 or more goals at Euro 2020 and with the freedom to get further forward given the aforementioned players along side him, plus the fact that he should play every match if fit, that seems like value to me.

Pogba likes to get shots away and if that trend continues in the Euros, I think he could find the net in some of those big matches on France’s fixture list.

Another player related goals bet I think is overpriced is Elif Elmas to be top team goalscorer for North Macedonia which can be backed at 14/1 with Bet365.

The Napoli man hasn’t featured much for his club this season but is a key man for his country, so should be fresh to play the majority of game time at the tournament and in a team that you wouldn’t expect to score much, Elmas stands a good chance of bagging more than any of his teammates given that he has 3 goals in his last 4 internationals.

One or two goals from any single player is likely to win this bet and with key striker Ilija Nestorovski missing out through injury, I would have this bet at 10/1 personally.

Elmas found the net in the recent win against Germany so certainly has the pedigree and ability to perform at this level, with only Aleksandar Trajkovski possessing a better caps:goals ratio in the 26 man squad.

Elmas is the top scoring midfielder in the squad with 7 goals in just 27 caps, an impressive record for a relatively small nation. The youngster, at just 21 years-old represents some rare top-level talent in the group and the 14/1 is worth a small play.
