The Swansea v Birmingham City match will not be shown live on television in the UK as the match is broadcast on 3PM on Saturday.
That time is a blackout in the UK for live football.
It was a bitter blow to Swansea fans, after the ex Norwich man had built a decent squad over the past few seasons and things looked like getting even better this season.
Swansea had one of the better endings to last season, finishing with one of the best records in the Championship (unbeaten in their last nine games) with a late surge which saw them just miss out on the playoffs.
There have been a few comings and goings, most notably starting left back Ryan Manning has followed Martin to the south coast club but more importantly the Swans have managed to hold on to striker Joel Piroe, who top scored for the club last season.
Swans captain Matt Grimes also will continue to hold the team together in midfield and there is definitely a new sense of optimism in the club.
Their possession football may also change with the side possibly going the more direct root to goal.
Jerry Yates has been added to bolster the firepower in front of goal, and the former Blackpool man could justify his £2.5m price tag.
Joe Allen continues to struggle with injuries however there’s little doubt that the former Welsh international can certainly hold his own with any other player in the division.
Keeping him fit for the duration of the campaign will be of utmost importance if the Swans are to launch any sort of serious charge on the playoffs this season.
Not surprisingly the Swans are seen as a match favourites to take all three points in the opener.
You can get around 4/5 on the Swans kicking off their season with a home win and that looks just about right.
The draw may also tempt a few punters at 5/2.
Joel Piroe is the favourite to find the net first in the game, although 4/1 does look a little short all things considered.
Better value may be in backing the new man up front Jerry Yates, who is available at around 6/1 and may be looking to impress in front of the home fans.
The correct score of Swansea to win 2-1 also makes considerable appeal at 15/2 – the Swans did tend to concede a few goals at the back last season and they may not have shored up their defence sufficiently.
Going forward should be no problems – get on the Swans to win this one with both teams to score.
