A 43-year-old Tom Brady unsurprisingly stole the headlines with yet another Super Bowl win. The legendary quarterback now has seven Super Bowl rings, the most any NFL player has ever won.
What next for Tom Brady?
The Superbowl MVP triumphed over Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who will undoubtedly go on to become an all-time great himself. But Super Bowl LV was all about Brady and the Bucs.
Importantly, the veteran is showing no signs of slowing down. After representing the New England Patriots for the majority of his career, he now has a new home.
Whether he continues his stunning form in Florida for another year remains to be seen, but it would seem a sensible approach from the franchise to do all they can to keep him fit and ready for another campaign.
Bookmakers have already turned to the future, with the latest odds very much predicting that a repeat of this year’s final could be seen in 2022.
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California is scheduled to host next year’s event.
Which teams have bookies backed to last longest in next season’s competition?
Mahomes and the Chiefs are currently favourites at 11/2 to go one better than they did at Super Bowl LV and win Super Bowl LVI.
Following the Chiefs is Tampa Bay, who have been given odds of 9/1 to defend their crown. Coach Bruce Arians looks set to stay for another year, and he is confident of keeping his stars for at least another campaign. The likes of Rob Gronkowski and Chris Godwin will be key to any title defence.
Also in consideration are Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills. They have been given odds of 11/1 and 12/1 respectively to be crowned champions.
After their final loss in Super Bowl LIV in 2019, San Francisco 49ers are currently 14/1 to win the competition in 2022. They are joined on 14/1 by Baltimore Ravens.
New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns can be backed at 18/1 and 20/1 respectively.
