Strictly Come Dancing: Chris Ramsey odds-on favourite to get the Blackpool boot
We’re down to seven contestants as this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing heads to the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the show’s special annual episode.
Unfortunately ‘Magic’ Mike Bushell won’t be there to join them after it was fourth time unlucky in the dance-off for the breakfast TV host last weekend.
Having surprisingly avoided the dance-off throughout this year’s series, bookmakers aren’t confident comedian Chris Ramsey and dancing partner Karen Hauer will repeat that feat once more this week.
He’s odds-on favourite at 4/5 to be eliminated in Sunday’s show at the magical Tower Ballroom.
Next favourite to leave is Eastenders actress Emma Barton, partnered with Anton du Beke, who has never won the show despite appearing in every series since it began in 2004, at best odds 10/3.
There’s then a sizable jump to the likes of TV personality Michelle Visage at 17/2, former footballer Alex Scott at 9/1, and social media influencer Saffron Barker at 16/1.
At 66/1 and 100/1 respectively, it’s safe to assume the fleet-footed TV presenter Karim Zeroual and Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher will enjoy at least another week in the dancing show.
For a longer priced punt, the 17/2 on offer for Visage, who was surprisingly in the dance-off last week despite scoring a massive 36/40 from the judges, looks best value as a surprise elimination.
But the bookmakers seem to view Blackpool as a two-way battle for survival between Ramsey and Barton.
It’s hard to disagree given they have often found themselves towards the bottom of the judges scoring, which determines 50% of the contestants’ overall scoring.
The judges, of course, have the final say on who is eliminated after the dance-off, too.
But, as Visage being in the bottom two showed last week, anything can happen on Strictly – especially with the added pressure of performing at Blackpool!
