Stoke v Tottenham Form Guide
The hosts go into the game on a fine run of form. They are now unbeaten in their last three matches, winning one and drawing two. More impressive, however, is the fact that the Potters have kept a clean sheet in all three matches.
They played out goalless draws with Derby and QPR, before defeating Blackburn 1-0 on Saturday. Nick Powell’s early strike was enough to secure all three points.
Spurs, however, didn’t have such luck at the weekend. They lost 2-0 at home to Leicester, with defender Toby Alderweireld scoring an own goal after Jamie Vardy’s opener.
Mourinho’s men are now without a win in their last three. They drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace earlier this month, before losing 2-1 to defending champions Liverpool.
The Premier League outfit will at least be given some confidence from their previous fixture in this season’s competition. They knocked out Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the round of 16.
Stoke v Tottenham Team News
Erik Lamela cancelled out Timo Werner’s opener, with Spurs then winning 5-4 on penalties.
But the Potters have also been knocking out some big guns this season. They edged past Blackpool 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in round one back in August.
And they were rewarded with a trip to Wolves, where Jacob Brown’s late winner saw them progress to the next round.
There they edged past Gillingham in round three, before picking up yet another 1-0 win in the round of 16, this time against Premier League side Aston Villa.
Stoke v Tottenham Prediction
Another Stoke victory on Wednesday evening can be backed at 29/5.
Mourinho’s men have been given odds of 11/20 to avoid the upset and book a spot in the semi-finals.
A draw is currently available at 18/5.
The clubs last met in the 2017/18 top-flight campaign, with Spurs getting the better of their opponents on both occasions. They won 5-1 at Wembley, before a 2-1 win at the Britannia.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min can be backed at 29/10 and 5/1 to score first respectively.
