Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur Predictions : Money on visitors to ‘bounce back from opening weekend loss’
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton welcome Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon, with both sides looking for their first league win of the new season.
The Saints narrowly lost out to Crystal Palace on the opening weekend, losing 1-0 to an early Wilfried Zaha goal.
Spurs meanwhile lost by the same scoreline, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header for Everton sinking Mourinho’s men in north London.

Spurs were, however, more fortunate, winning their Europa League second round qualifying tie 2-1 against Bulgarian outfit Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
But it’s back to Premier League action this weekend, with the hosts aiming to bounce back after two successive defeats in all competitions.
What are the Southampton v Tottenham Odds?
The home side have been given odds of 2/1 to win the game, with Tottenham available at 11/8.
A draw can be backed at 23/10.
The sides met on four occasions last time out, with Spurs winning their home league fixture 2-1 and Southampton winning their home league fixture 1-0.
They then came together in the FA Cup fourth round, playing out a 1-1 draw on the south coast.
But it was Mourinho’s men who came out on top in the replay, with a late Son Heung-min penalty securing a 3-2 win in north London.
The South Korean will once again be the man to watch on Sunday, and he’s currently 13/2 to net the first goal of the game.
His fellow forwards Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn can be backed at 4/1 and 15/2 respectively.
What are the Southampton v Tottenham Predictions?
The home side boast Danny Ings within their ranks. His 22 league goals last season earned him a recall to the England national team, and he will once again be a threat going forward.
Ings has been given odds of 7/2 to score first, and 11/10 to score anytime throughout the 90 minutes.
His team-mates Che Adams and Nathan Redmond are available at 15/2 and 17/2 respectively to score first on Sunday afternoon.
And it’s currently 3/4 for both teams to find the back of the net.
There will be plenty of excitement surrounding the game given the return of Gareth Bale, but it may be just too soon for the winger to get some minutes on the pitch.
