In the quarter final the mercurial Londoner O’Sullivan thrashed another Chinese player, the emerging 21 year old Zhao Xintong 6-1, with the 46 year old looking comfortable and at ease at the table.

His opponent tonight, Fan Zhengyi overcame a final frame thriller, disposing of Welshman Ryan Day 6-5.

Tonight’s match looks like being another potential classic with O’Sullivan going for his fifth Champion Of Champions crown as he looks to bag the £150,000 winners cheque.
