Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga double last season; as a result of their UEFA Champions League triumph, Los Blancos earned a place in the UEFA Super Cup.

Frankfurt won the UEFA Europa League title last season, securing a Super Cup spot in the process and it’ll be interesting to see how the German side match-up against Real Madrid.

This will be Real Madrid’s first competitive fixture since that Champions League final and they’ll look to kick-start their new season with some silverware in their season opener which will be played in Helsinki.

Eintracht Frankfurt are coming off a humiliating 6:1 loss at the hands of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on the weekend.

Prior to that they had won three games in a row, and had no losses in nine matches so they will need to step up to the challenge tonight.

To be fair, Eintracht Frankfurt have enjoyed some fine form these past few months; they have five wins in their last seven games, with just one loss in their last 10 matches.

However, it’s important to note that Frankfurt lost by a 6:1 scoreline in their previous match.

Also, Frankfurt are treading on unfamiliar territory here; as they’ve never played in the UEFA Super Cup.

However, Real Madrid are regulars in this tournament; they’ve made it to the Super Cup four times in the last eight years, winning three times. All things considered, we believe that Real Madrid will be the victors here.

Eintracht Frankfurt have scored a ridiculous amount of goals in recent weeks; they bagged 13 goals in their last four games.

On the other hand, Oliver Glasner’s men conceded six goals in their last match alone.

Just like Frankfurt, Real Madrid have scored their fair share of goals; they found the net five times in their last four games, whilst allowing three goals in that four-game stretch.

Moreover, this is a cup final, and both teams will give their all to win it; with that in mind, both teams should get on the score sheet.

Tip 3: Over 2.5 total goals @ 3/5

Our final prediction for this match is on the over/under goals market.

We mentioned that Frankfurt scored 13 goals in their last four games; that’s over three goals per game.

Because of this, most of Frankfurt’s games have been on the high-scoring side. All of Frankfurt’s last four games saw at least four goals scored; in fact, those four games saw five goals scored per game on average.

Considering Real Madrid have been consistent in goal scoring terms, this should be a high-scoring game.
