Premier League transfers: Which strikers could ‘help struggling sides’ avoid relegation?
As Liverpool march on at the top of the league, the bottom of the table still involves a fight between several sides.
Watford have now climbed out of the relegation zone after a fine run under new manager Nigel Pearson. And it’s Bournemouth who have taken their place in the bottom three.
Norwich also find themselves in the battle at the bottom, with Aston Villa occupying the third and final spot in the relegation places.

The January transfer window will soon head into its final stages, meaning teams have limited time in order to find the player who can stop their rut.
And where better to look than up front, with the sides in the bottom half undoubtedly short of some fire power going forward.
After 23 games, it’s the Cherries and the Hornets who have scored the fewest goals. They’ve both got 20 in the league this season, two behind Crystal Palace and Newcastle. Norwich are next in line with only 23.
West Ham, Brighton and Burnley have also been lacking in the goals department.
Despite a lack of action in the window, there’s still plenty of time left for the struggling sides to find the right player to solve their problems up front.
One such player is Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian has had limited playing time this season due to the form of first-choice Tammy Abraham. He could, therefore, be on the move in the coming weeks.
He’s currently 6/4 to join struggling Aston Villa, who are in desperate need of a striker after Wesley was ruled out for the rest of the campaign earlier this month. He’s also available at 4/1 to make a return to Palace this month.
And it’s 14/1 for Batshuayi to be a Bournemouth player come the end of January.
Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud and Palace’s Christian Benteke are also seemingly surplus to requirements at their respective outfits. They have inevitably been linked with a switch to some of the sides in danger of relegation.
French striker Giroud is 25/1 to join West Ham, and 33/1 to join Palace.

And Benteke could be leaving Selhurst Park after finding himself behind Jordan Ayew and now Cenk Tosun in the pecking order. The Belgian international is currently 10/1 to return to Villa Park.
Meanwhile Bournemouth will be doing all they can to keep frontman Callum Wilson this month. He’s previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, but is now needed more than ever at the Vitality Stadium.
The 27-year-old is available at 12/1 and 16/1 to join West Ham and Crystal Palace respectively. He’s also still a target for the Blues. The striker is 10/1 to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, or to fill in for Harry Kane at Spurs.
It’s currently 12/1 for Glenn Murray to join either the Hammers or the Magpies this month. And it’s 9/1 for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to join either Newcastle or Aston Villa.
