Many of Europe’s top stars could be on their way to a new club this month, but what about those closer to home?

The January transfer window provides an opportunity for some of the English Premier League’s occupants to switch clubs.

Whether it be from within English football or a move abroad, it may just be the time for certain players to kick start their careers elsewhere. It’s a chance for those on the fringes of their respective clubs to get that much-needed fresh start.

Several new managers will be eyeing new recruits, none more so than new Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. But with those new arrivals comes the inevitable exit of some of the current crop.

And it’s Granit Xhaka who is looking most likely to make the move out of north London in the coming weeks. The midfielder is available at 1/3 to be a Hertha Berlin player at this stage next month.

He’s also been linked with a switch to AC Milan and Borussia Monchengladbach, and is currently 12/1 and 20/1 respectively to join either of those sides.

His team-mate Mesut Ozil could also be on the move if his new boss doesn’t see a marked improvement in the midfielder’s displays. The German is 2/1 to be at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce after the current window. He’s 5/1 to join AC Milan, and 8/1 to join any Chinese Super League side.

Staying with new bosses and staying in north London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho will also be keen to freshen things up. Many of his players have been rumoured with an exit this month, including Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen.

LONDON, ENGLAND – FEBRUARY 13 2019: Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham during the Champions League.

The defender is 9/1 to continue his career at Napoli, and 10/1 to return to former club Ajax in the coming weeks.

The midfielder, meanwhile, is 4/6 to join Inter Milan, 9/1 to join Real Madrid and 10/1 to join Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Other high-profile moves that could come to fruition this month include a Manchester United exit for Nemanja Matic, and Chelsea’s Pedro moving out of Stamford Bridge.

Matic is currently 4/1 to move to the Serie A with Inter Milan, and 7/1 to make the switch to La Liga with Atletico Madrid.

Spanish winger Pedro is available at 11/10 to join any MLS side, and 6/1 to return to Barcelona.

Another player linked with his former club is Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake. He’s 5/2 to go back to Chelsea, and 10/1 should he be persuaded by Pep Guardiola to join Manchester City.

Those two sides are also reportedly chasing another Premier League defender in Ben Chilwell. The Leicester left-back is 4/1 to move to Chelsea, and 20/1 to join Man City.
