Next Watford Manager Odds

Watford Football Club

Slaven Bilic is having a difficult time as manager of Watford at the moment and the chances of promotion back to the Premier League are looking slim.

As a result the bookmakers in the united Kingdom have announced the odds for the next Watford manager as the pressure increases.

Lets not forget that Watford were previously in the Premier League, so the new manager will need to get the board and fans behind him if they are to get back on track.

Who are the top contenders for the Watford manager job?

The current odds for the next Watford manager are as follows:

  • Scott Duxbury – 4/1
  • Luis Enrique – 5/1
  • Nigel Pearson – 6/1
  • Brendan Rodgers – 6/1
  • Mikel Arteta – 8/1
  • David Wagner – 8/1
  • Eddie Howe – 10/1

Why Marco Silva is the favorite for the Watford manager job

Marco Silva is the current favorite to become the next Watford manager, following the departure of Walter Mazzarri.

The 40-year-old Portuguese coach has been out of work since being sacked by Hull City in January, but he impressed during his short spell with the Tigers, taking them from relegation candidates to within touching distance of safety.

Silva has also been linked with the vacant Swansea City job, but it is thought that Watford are in pole position to land him.

Other names in the frame for the Watford job include former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri and ex-Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

Who else is in the running for the Watford manager job?

Watford could be on the lookout for a new manager after Rob Edwards is coming under increased pressure as manager of the club.

The Hornets are currently midtable in the Championship and have only one win in their last six games.

Rob Edwards had only been in charge for a short period of time, but his side’s poor performance could lead to him losing his job.

So who else could be in the running for the Watford manager job?

How the betting odds have shifted departure

The odds on who will be the next manager have shifted significantly. following Watford’s disappointing run of form.

There’s also talk of who the next Everton manager will be..

The current frontrunner is Marco Silva, who is currently managing Hull City in the English Premier League.

Silva has been heavily odds-on to take over at Vicarage Road since Mazzarri’s departure was announced.

Other contenders for the Watford job include former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, ex-Everton boss Roberto Martinez and former Chelsea and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

So, what do Watford need to look for in their next manager?

First and foremost, they need someone who can turn things around quickly and get them moving up the table.

Watford cannot afford to spend too long in the relegation zone, so they need a manager who knows how to get results quickly.

Secondly, Watford need a manager who can bring some stability to the club. They have had three managers in less than a year, so they need someone who can come in and stick around for a while.

Thirdly, Watford need a manager who knows the Premier League well and has experience at this level.

The Hornetts cannot afford to make another mistake with a foreign manager who does not know English football well enough.

Lastly, Watford need a manager who will fit into the club’s culture and values.

This is an important job for any business, but it is especially important for a football club, where team spirit and togetherness are so important.

How Watford can get the most out of their new manager

The Hornets are currently bottom of the table with just one win from their opening 13 games and are in real danger of being relegated to the Championship.

Whoever is appointed as the new manager will have a tough task on their hands but there are some things that Watford can do to give them the best chance of success.

  1. Appoint a manager with Premier League experience

The first and most important thing that Watford need to do is appoint a manager who has experience of managing in the Premier League.

There are some very good managers out there who have never managed in England’s top flight but they would be taking a big risk appointing someone who has no experience of the division.

  1. Give them time to assess the squad

The new manager will need time to assess the squad and see what needs to be done in order to improve it.

This means that Watford should not make any rash decisions in terms of bringing in new players in January. They should only do so if the new manager identifies specific areas that need strengthening.

  1. Back them in the transfer market

If Watford are serious about giving their new manager a chance then they need to back him in the transfer market.

This means making available funds for him to sign the players he wants and getting rid of any deadwood in the squad.

  1. Don’t sack them if results don’t improve immediately

Sacking a manager is always going to be a difficult decision but Watford need to resist doing so if results don’t improve immediately under their new boss.

Patience is key and they should only consider parting ways with their new manager if it becomes clear that he is not up to the task.

Watford have a history of appointing managers who have achieved success at other clubs, and they will be hoping that their new manager can follow in the footsteps of such luminaries as Graham Taylor, Gianluca Vialli, and Walter Mazzarri.

The club’s new manager will inheriting a squad full of talent, but one that has under-achieved so far this season.

They will need to get the best out of players like Ismaila Sarr, Troy Deeney, and Abdoulaye Doucoure if they are to stand any chance of survival.

The new manager will also need to bring in some fresh blood in January, as Watford look to add quality and depth to their squad.
