The Dubai Nursery Handicap Stakes opens the action at 13:10, followed by the Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes and the Dubai Autumn Stakes at 13:45 and 14:20 respectively.

The Emirates Cesarewitch, Dubai British EBF Boadicea Fillies’ Stakes and Darley Stakes are also on the card at 15:35, 16:15 and 16:50 respectively.

But the headlines will focus on the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at 14:55, with a purse of £500,000 attracting the very best in the business.

A total of £242,151 of that prize will go to the winner, with 18 runners setting their sights on the reward.

Open to two-year-old colts and fillies, John Gosden clinched a well-overdue victory two years ago with Too Darn Hot, with Charlie Appleby securing the win in 2019 with Pinatubo.

In a thrilling encounter, Juvenile Pinatubo closed to chase 2f out, before mounting its own challenge at 1f out.

In 2020, however, it is National Stakes winner Thunder Moon who is being backed to take home the prize.

But Alkumait and Battle Ground are also being heavily linked with that top spot. As are Albasheer and Chindit, the top two from the recent Champagne Stakes.

The race usually delivers for punters, with eight of the previous 12 champions coming from the top three in pre-race betting.

Seven of those were the overall market leader.

Chindit has been given odds of 7/4 to clinch victory, with Thunder Moon available at 3/1.

Alkumait can be backed at 6/1. Both Albasheer and Battleground are currently available at 8/1 to come out on top, with Cadillac and Etonion currently 10/1.

Duo St Mark’s Basilica and Wembley have been given odds of 12/1, while Fivethousandtoone is currently 14/1.

Decisive Edge, Devilwala, Mac Swiney, Poetic Flare and Tactical are all available at 33/1 to cause a huge upset and finish in first.

Devious Company and Snapraeterea are currently 40/1 and 50/1 respectively.
