Newcastle v Watford Betbuilder and Live Streaming – Predictions for Tyneside fixture

Published

on

Newcastle fell to League One side Cambridge United in the FA Cup last weekend, in what was one of the biggest upsets of the week; they are now without a win in their last five games, with a draw and four losses. The Magpies will welcome Watford to St James’ Park on Saturday; they’ll hope to right their wrongs against an equally struggling Watford side.

Watford have been going through a rough patch over the past few months; they’ve lost their last seven, and nine of their last ten games in all competitions. The Hornets will hope to put an end to their losing streak as they visit Newcastle; they’ll fancy their chances against a Newcastle side that’s won just one game this season.

Newcastle Watford Prediction: BTTS yes @ 4/6 (Bet365)

First, we’ll take a look at the BTTS market. Newcastle have not been able to keep the goals out; they’ve conceded in their last four, and 16 of their last 17 games across all competitions. Newcastle have scored their fair share of goals, as both teams have found the net in 12 of those 17 games.

Just like Newcastle, Watford have conceded a lot of goals this season; they’ve not been able to keep a clean sheet since August last year. The Hornets have conceded in 18 consecutive matches in all competitions; as a matter of fact, they’ve conceded in every single game they’ve played in the Premier League this season. Although Watford have struggled to win games, they’ve done fairly well in front of goal; The Hornets have scored in seven of their last eight matches.

Granted, this is more of a both teams to concede pick rather than both teams to score; as Newcastle have one clean sheet in their last 17 games, while Watford have no clean sheets in their last 18 games. It’s important to note that both teams have scored in four of the last five clashes between these two; and for this reason, we should expect goals at both ends.

Fixed odds: Newcastle Utd v Watford: Draw @ 13/5 (Bet365)

Both teams have struggled a lot this season, it’s hard to pick a side here. Watford have lost all of their last seven games, while Newcastle have no wins in their last five games, with a draw and four losses. Three of the last five encounters between these sides ended in draws; and considering how both teams have struggled to win games, we’ll likely get a draw here.

Over/unders: Newcastle Watford : Over 2.5 total goals @ 3/4 (Bet365)

Only last-placed Norwich have conceded more goals than Newcastle in the Premier League this season; The Magpies have allowed 13 goals in their last five games alone.

Watford, like Newcastle, have conceded a lot of goals this season, only three teams have conceded more. As a matter of fact, The Hornets have conceded a staggering 20 goals in their last seven games alone; that’s almost three goals per game on average.

Watford’s games have mostly been on the high-scoring side because of the way they concede; Seven of their last eight games have gone over 2.5, with five of those games going over 3.5. Considering three of Newcastle’s last five games have gone over 3.5, this will likely be a high-scoring affair.
