Mohamed Salah: Will ‘Liverpool star make summer move’ or stay at Anfield?
It’s been a frustrating time for many in the world of football with the majority of action across European halted due to coronavirus.
Decisions have already been made regarding the future of certain leagues. The Dutch and French campaigns have been ended, meaning other leagues could follow suit.
The English Premier League, however, seemingly doesn’t want such an outcome.
Many fans, players and clubs have registered their interest in finishing the season this summer. It would certainly be difficult, but options are being brought to the table.
And any action on the pitch will undoubtedly have an impact on the action off it. The summer transfer window may not go ahead as planned, but several players will certainly have their eyes on a move.
As we approach major international tournaments, several top players may be looking to find regular playing time at club level. And that could mean a high-profile switch in the transfer market.
Many of these players may be seen as important to their club’s plans, but the prestige of an international call-up may just persuade them to get on the pitch more often than they had been before the suspension of all football.
And one player who has had a major impact for both club and country is Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool and Egypt star has had a phenomenal couple of years. His stock continues to rise, resulting in the inevitable link to other top European clubs.
The winger has also lined up for Roma and Chelsea, but is now being linked with a host of other world-class outfits.
Despite the links, Salah has seemingly set his sights firmly on staying at Anfield. The winger is currently 1/7 to do just that.
But the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have come knocking before. With past success, they could come knocking again.
Players such as Xabi Alonso, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez have all been tempted to La Liga over the years. Could Salah follow other Anfield heroes to the sunny heights of Spain?
It’s currently 7/1 for the Egyptian to move to Real Madrid this summer. And he has been given odds of 9/1 to complete a switch to Barcelona.
Other major clubs potentially circling include Bayern Munich and Juventus.
The German and Italian champions respectively are available at 11/1 to sign Salah next.
And there is even the possibility of the unthinkable. The 27-year-old can be backed at 11/1 to make the switch to Manchester United in time for next season.
