Mbappe, Martinez and Jesus next clubs: Will ‘top forwards move on’ this summer?
With most football suspended throughout Europe, it is a worrying time for the millions of fans out there.
Liverpool supporters may be fearful for the outcome of the campaign, while those sides still remaining in the Champions League and Europa League will also be feeling anxious.
The action on the pitch may have stopped, but that hasn’t put a halt on the ongoing rumour mill.
Several stars in the sport are currently in isolation at home due to the coronavirus outbreak, but they will most certainly also be thinking about where their future lies.
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND – FEBRUARY 12 2019: Kylian Mbappe of PSG during the Champions League match between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford Stadium.
Contracts will expire in the summer, and players will have one eye on where they will be playing come the start of the new season.
And undoubtedly the hottest properties out there right now are attacking players.
And Jurgen Klopp’s side is just one of a huge number of clubs that will unquestionably want to improve in that area. The deadly trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have once again been formidable in front of goal this term, but could they do with a helping hand up there?
Likewise, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur seem to be struggling to score without their main attacking threats. Injuries to Tammy Abraham and Harry Kane have seen the goals dry up.
Manchester United are another side who may want to add further depth before next season begins, whenever that may be. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought in Odion Ighalo, who has immediately hit the ground running. But the striker’s loan deal is expected to expire at the end of the current campaign.
And PSG youngster Kylian Mbappe seems to fit the ball for a host of clubs. The 21-year-old has had another stunning season in Paris. The Ligue 1 side will be keen to keep hold of their young star, but will be prepared for bids from a number of European sides.
It’s 7/2 for the France international to move to Madrid, 12/1 to sign for Manchester City and 14/1 to make the switch to Anfield.
He is available at 33/1 to sign for Barcelona this summer, and 60/1 to move to Juventus.
Also of huge interest is Inter Milan frontman Lautaro Martinez. The Argentinian has been in fine form this season, and has formed a formidable partnership with fellow forward Romelu Lukaku.
Martinez is available at 9/4 to join Real Madrid this summer, and 3/1 to move to Barcelona.
And Man City striker Gabriel Jesus is another who has been eyed by a long list of clubs. The Brazilian is 15/2 to be a Madrid player next season. He’s currently 14/1 to sign for Barcelona this summer, and 22/1 to move to PSG.
Jesus can be backed at 25/1 to join Bayern, and 40/1 to move to Italy to seal a transfer to Juventus.
