Matt Hancock Live! : Odds on I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trials
I’m a Celebrity 2022 has now begun and the questions have already begun as to when Matt Hancock will enter the jungle.
The Conservative MP, who was sacked as former Health Secretary following an affair has already caused controversy with many people questioning whether the move into TV celebrity work is the right thing to do, considering the UK is barely out of the Covid 19 crisis.
The questions over his entry into the jungle don’t seem to have fazed him however.
Hancock commented:
“I don’t expect to serve in Government again but there are lots of ways you can communicate and engage with people.”
It seems that taking part wasn’t as cut and dry as expected:
“When I got approached to take part, I did think long and hard about it but one of the reasons that I felt able to say yes was because the IAC team have put in place a system so I can be reached at any point on any urgent constituency matters”
Many have questioned whether they really want to ‘know’ the real Matt Hancock but the former minister seems to think so:
“Lots of people have a view on me from being health secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that’s not the whole story.
I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life. You can’t hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all.”
Even the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is reported to be ‘extremely disappointed’ with his former Health Secretary’s move into reality television.
That said, it has certainly got tongues wagging amongst the general public, and with the opportunity to put Hancock through hell with jungle bushtucker trials there are many who will be eager to get to their phones and vote.
Matt Hancock is now as large as 40/1 to win I’m a Celebrity 2022 following the introduction of last night’s contestant.
Jill Scott and Mike Tindall already head the betting after last night’s opening show, with former Lioness Scott coming across well in the opening ‘Walk The Plank’ challenge atop a skyscraper.
The retired English footballer can be backed at 2/1 to become ‘Queen of the Jungle’ while the royal representative in the show Mike Tindall is available at 11/4.
Boy George, who has yet to make an appearance on the show is available at 9/1, with the Culture Club singer sure to be a hit with 80s fans.
