Manchester United handed boost in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen
Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen in the transfer window after front runners Inter Milan look to have their sights on different targets.
The Serie A outfit led by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly prioritised a move for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, who the Italian worked with at Juventus.
This gives the Red Devils a better chance of signing the Danish international who is reportedly valued at around £20m given the fact his contract expires in the summer.
Eriksen has been reportedly looking for a way out of Spurs since the summer when he was heavily linked with moves to either Real Madrid or United but a move never came together for the midfielder.

With the 27-year-old’s head elsewhere, he has not been at his best for the Lilywhites, producing the worst numbers of his Spurs career this season.
In 24 appearances thus far, Eriksen has only managed to score three times as well as assisting three times albeit a lot of his appearances have been off the bench.
New Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has not been starting the world-renowned playmaker due to his contractual situation with the club and made Eriksen wait until his 6th Premier League game in charge to give him his first league start under his stewardship.
Odds of Christian Eriksen’s Next Club
1/1- Inter Milan
4/1- Real Madrid
8/1- Manchester United
16/1- Juventus
20/1- Paris Saint-Germain
Manchester United have been lacking in midfield this season, especially in terms of creativity, with the injuries to star Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently 5th in the league table and are only 5 points away from 4th placed Chelsea, a position that gives the Red Devils automatic qualification to the Champions League.
The signing of Eriksen is unlikely according to the bookies, with odds being 8/1, most likely due to the fact that United have been adamant of signing only young and British talent.
Inter Milan are still favourites according to the bookies despite Conte eyeing up Vidal from Barcelona as their main transfer target.
The 32-year-old, however, is reportedly not for sale with Barcelona and manager Ernesto Valverde adamant on keeping him.
Real Madrid are still keeping tabs on Eriksen having been heavily interested in the midfielder throughout the summer transfer window as they look to replace their ageing midfield of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
