Liverpool v Atletico Madrid Betbuilder

Another winner last night as Leipzig duly obliged by beating Tottenham. Its onto Wednesday night with Liverpool taking on Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

With Atletico likely to have their back to the wall from the first minute you’d expect Liverpool to have the large majority of the ball.

Diego Simeone will be happy for his side to set up in a defensive structure and try to restrict Liverpool to as few chances as possible.

If they do get in dangerous positions ‘El Cholo’ will be happy for his side to commit fouls to break the game up. With that in mind i’m happy to back Liverpool to have over 3.5 free kicks in both halves to kick the betbuilder off.

I can also see Atleti, master of the dark arts, picking up a few cautions for possible timewasting, even from the start of the match. It’s theirs to lose and chucking the away side to have over 1 card into the mix looks a worthy addition.

Los Rojiblancos are averaging 2.4 cards per game and I expect that average to be extended here especially with the magnitude of the game.

Corners for the hosts also make appeal with the ball likely to be in Madrid’s defensive half for the large majority of the tie the Reds, who like a corner kick themselves, should be able to get at least 2 in each half so that will be added in.

Finally I do think the current European Champions will progress, their home record is frightening and history is on their side.

Add Liverpool to qualify into the mix to give this betbuilder a nice boost to 12/5 from odds-on.
