Liverpool ready for Arsenal test at Anfield

Another weekend, another epic Premier League encounter which sees Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take on the only other side in the division with a 100% record after two games as Arsenal travel to Anfield.

Liverpool, yet to hit top gear, rode their luck at times against Southampton. But in the end avoided a potential banana skin following their European Super Cup success and left St Mary’s with all three points to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Adrian made a number of vital saves, but looked dodgy playing out from the back and was left red faced when Danny Ings charged down an attempted clearance resulting in the ball nestling in the back of the night. Luckily Klopp’s side withstood a late Southampton onslaught to secure the points on the road.

Arsenal made it back to back Premier League victories with a win over Burnley at the Emirates last weekend. It wasn’t a vintage Gunners display but it was gritty. Something we’ve not enough from recent Arsenal sides.

Goals should be aplenty considering the firepower both sides have up top. Six of the last seven encounters between the two sides have produced over 3.5 goals which is evens to cop at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino netted a hattrick the last time Arsenal visited Anfield and he’s 50/1 to repeat that feat.

Arsenal are winless in their last eight games against Liverpool, but shouldn’t be underestimated on Saturday.

Pierre Aubameyang is a man in form scoring seven goals in his last seven league appearances. He’s 15/2 to open the scoring.

With home advantage and their recent unbeaten run against the Gunners Liverpool are 8/15 to bag all three points, the visitors are 11/2 and the draw can be backed at 4/1.
