Leeds v Fulham Prediction : Both clubs looking to clinch first victory since return to top-flight
It’s a battle between two of the three newly-promoted sides on Saturday as Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds host Scott Parker’s Fulham as Peter Lynch brings you the latest Leeds v Fulham predictions and tips.
Both teams had a difficult start to life back in the top-flight, with both on the receiving end of defeats from two giants of English football.
The Lilywhites were narrowly defeated by champions Liverpool in a seven-goal thriller. Goals from Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich were somehow not enough to take anything from the 4-3 loss at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Before that, Fulham suffered a 3-0 loss at home to Arsenal in the very first match of the new Premier League campaign.
The pair were then also involved in League Cup action throughout the week, with Fulham defeating Ipswich 1-0 and Leeds losing on penalties to Hull after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
But those results will now be in the past as the clubs look to get off the mark and climb the league table.
It’s currently 8/13 for a Leeds victory, with the visitors available at 5/1 to take all three points.
A draw between the sides can be backed at 14/5.
Having both gone up from the Championship last season, the two clubs know each other very well. They shared the spoils in their league encounters, with Leeds winning at Elland Road and Fulham winning at Craven Cottage.
Aleksandr Mitrovic and Josh Onomah scored either side of Bamford’s strike in Fulham’s 2-1 home win in December, before Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Harrison secured a 3-0 Leeds win in the return fixture.
Another 2-1 victory for Fulham has been given odds of 18/1, with a 3-0 win for Leeds currently available at 12/1.
Already off the mark for the season, Bamford is currently 9/2 to net the first goal of the game, and 7/5 to score anytime.
His team-mate Harrison available at 5/2 to once again find the back of the net.
Having started on the bench against the Gunners, Mitrovic will be eager to impress from the very start for Parker’s men.
The Fulham striker can be backed at 7/1 to score first on Saturday.
Fellow forwards Ivan Cavaleiro and Aboubakar Kamara have been given odds of 5/1 and 10/3 respectively to score anytime at Elland Road.
Both teams to score is currently available at 19/20.
