Ladies day Aintree dress code – what NOT to wear
The Ladies Day dress code at Aintree, what to wear and what not to wear at the Grand National course.
After a fabulous day’s racing at Aintree Thursday we’re on to Friday and the ever popular Ladies Day.
It’s one of the most popular days of the 2023 Aintree Festival with the featured race the Melling Chase at 3.30PM.
The Ladies Day at Aintree is a prestigious event in the horse racing calendar and it is expected that attendees dress smartly and appropriately for the occasion.
The dress code varies depending on the enclosure you are attending, but generally, the following guidelines apply:
The Grand National Festival is a formal event and therefore it is recommended that ladies wear a formal outfit or dress.
A hat or fascinator is also usually worn.
In the Princess Royal Stand and Hospitality areas, a more formal dress code is enforced. Ladies are encouraged to wear formal daywear, such as a dress, skirt, or trouser suit.
Hats, headpieces, or fascinators are mandatory so come prepared folks!
In the Tattersalls and Festival Zone, the dress code is more relaxed.
Ladies are advised to dress smartly, but a hat or headpiece is not compulsory.
Jeans, trainers, and sportswear are not permitted in any enclosure so please don’t try and get in with them on.
It is important to note that these guidelines are subject to change, so it is best to check the official Aintree Racecourse website or contact the racecourse directly for the most up-to-date dress code information.
Above all enjoy your day and make sure you make the most out of Ladies Day at Aintree.
