It’s been a somewhat disappointing campaign so far for both teams.
KKR sit mid-table with 12 points to their name. They’ve won six and lost seven times in IPL 2020.
RR have also won six games, losing their other seven. They joined KKR on 12 points after recording a seven-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab on Friday.
A knock of 50 from Ben Stokes and 48 from Sanju Samson was enough to see off their opponents, despite Chris Gayle scoring 99.
England’s Jofra Archer finally got rid of the record-hitting batsman, who became the first ever player to hit 1000 sixes in T20 cricket.
The 41-year-old smashed eight sixes from 63 runs, yet still ended up on the losing side.
And it was old enemies Jos Buttler and Steve Smith who came together to score the winning runs for Rajasthan.
RR now turn their attention to Sunday as they look to finish the campaign off with a victory and a potential spot in the play-offs.
The Royals are currently evens to win the game, with KKR currently available at 11/10.
KKR go into the game on the back of two successive defeats, losing out to both Chennai Super Kings and KXIP in their last two IPL matches.
A play-off spot is still within their grasp, but other results across the weekend must also go their way.
The penultimate group encounter – match 55 of 60 – sees Royal Challengers Bangalore face off with Delhi Capitals.
Both teams sit on 14 points with identical records, with both chasing the all-important second spot.
And the final match of the group stage sees Mumbai Indians meet Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
MI have already qualified for the finals, winning eight of their 12 games so far.
The play-offs take place from Thursday to Sunday, with the final scheduled for Tuesday at Dubai International Stadium.
