January transfer window: Where will ‘Europe’s top players’ end up?
A new year brings with it a new transfer window, where several top players look to be on the move across Europe.
Numerous clubs will be looking to add to their current squads as they head into the second half of the season, while other clubs will be looking for a complete turnaround in personnel.
In England, Liverpool top the leaderboard but may need to strengthen in order to completely see off the challenge from Leicester and Manchester City. Those two clubs meanwhile may just keep the pressure on the league leaders with a few signings of their own.
Chelsea will also undoubtedly be in the market after they were given the freedom to sign players once again. And new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will also be keen to make space in his squad for new additions. His Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Jose Mourinho may also dip into the transfer market this month.
Manchester United are another side who certainly have the funds if necessary after missing out on Erling Haaland.
Throughout Europe, both Barcelona and Real Madrid will also be showing interest in some of the continent’s top players. They will, as ever, be on the lookout for some exciting new arrivals, while German giants Bayern Munich might just add to their squad in order to revive the defence of their Bundesliga title.
In Italy, Juventus and Inter Milan will be aiming to attract some of the brightest there is. And in France, PSG look to have already wrapped up another title, but may yet again spend their millions as they look to progress in the Champions League.
But where will some of the biggest stars be heading in January 2020?
