The pair come together on Saturday evening, with the visitors aiming to clinch the trophy against the bottom side.

The tournament resumed last weekend after a lengthy break due to the coronavirus pandemic. Having started as normal earlier this year, the competition was brought to a halt in a bid to stop the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

But the fixtures have returned, albeit behind closed doors.

And it was Italy who got the Six Nations back underway, but they were on the receiving end of a 50-17 loss to Ireland in Dublin.

The defeat perhaps epitomises their 2020 tournament, with Franco Smith’s side yet to win a match this time around.

They sit bottom of the standings with four losses from their four games. A points difference of -105 has furthered their misery.

That began with a 42-0 loss at Wales on the opening weekend at the beginning of February. Smith, who is currently interim boss, then saw his men lose 35-22 in France.

The Italians then followed those defeats up by losing 17-0 at home to Scotland, before that loss to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium last weekend.

England, meanwhile, remain in contention for the title, alongside Ireland and France.

Eddie Jones has guided his side to three wins and a loss, with the defeat coming against France. Fabien Galthie’s outfit picked up a 24-17 victory at Stade de France back in February.

But since that loss, England have been in fine form, winning their last three.

That run started with a 13-6 win at Scotland, before Jones’ men edged past Ireland and Wales 24-12 and 33-30 respectively.

They now turn their attentions to Saturday evening, with the Six Nations trophy up for grabs.

England are strong favourites at 1/100 to avoid an upset and come out on top.

Italy can be backed at 45/1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.

And a draw has been given odds of 90/1.

The Six Nations sides will be joined by Fiji and Japan in an eight-team tournament beginning next month, replacing the regular Autumn Tests, which have been removed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
