I’m A Celebrity 2019: Ian Wright new favourite to face second public voted Bushtucker Trial
Former footballer Ian Wright has overtaken reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner as the new favourite to face the second Bushtucker Trial voted for by the public on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
Wright is trading at 11/8, while Jenner is joined by Kate Garroway at 2/1.
If the betting odds are to be relied upon then it looks like the other seven contestants can sleep easy, if such a thing exists in the jungle, with the next favourite Roman Kemp a long way back at 8/1.
Interestingly, after opening up on his intriguing childhood on Monday night’s show, Kemp is the new favourite at 4/1 to win this year’s series.
He revealed his godfather George Michael, formerly of pop band Wham!, regularly competed with his father Martin Kemp, formerly of pop band Spandau Ballet, to lavish him with expensive birthday and Christmas presents.
The sadly deceased Michael even hilariously ‘third-wheeled’ his parents’ first date together.
In a fascinating episode, Kemp wasn’t the only one to admirably open up. Jenner revealed that her gender identity crisis was the “dirty secret” in her famous family for a long time.
Wright and former rugby player James Haskell both admitted ‘breaking down’ in tears after missing out on international call-ups.
In the task broadcast on last night’s show, meanwhile, Jenner and Garroway teamed up 20 metres in the air, each inside a box filled with rats and critters being poured over them.
Provided with several balls and a small hole, they were tasked with dropping as many balls through it within a moving target below them.
Garroway, however, appeared more concerned with removing bugs from her ‘Nu-Nu,’ as she dubbed it, than gaining stars – and by extension, meals – for her camp-mates.
That said, she still matched the cooler Jenner’s rather pitiful total of two stars in ten minutes.
In a twist, it was revealed the better camp could prise either Garroway or Jenner – and their stars – away from Snake Rock.
Garroway was chosen, with Jenner visibly gutted.
And her woes were later compounded when presenters Ant and Dec revealed live on air that all five contestants remaining at Snake Rock will face the next trial, which will be broadcast on Tuesday night’s show.
We should find out then, too, who will be voted for the next trial.
