Live coverage of Cambridge v Luton options

Cambridge United have lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions, and that loss was on penalties; they’ve enjoyed some good form, winning five of their last seven games. The thing is, Cambridge United tend to fall short whenever they play against Luton; they have no wins in their last seven meetings with Luton, with two draws and five losses.

Just like Cambridge United, Luton have lost just once in their last eight games; again, like Luton, they’ve won five of those eight games.

The difference is, Luton play in the Championship, while Cambridge United play in League One, a lower tier. Considering Luton have the head to head advantage here, they should win.

Cambridge v Luton commentary options

We’ve pointed out that Luton Town have no losses in their last seven encounters with Cambridge United; we would also like to mention that they’ve scored the first goal in most of those clashes. Luton bagged the first goal in six of those seven meetings.

It’s also important to point out that Luton Town usually come out all guns blazing; and as a result, they usually score first. Luton have drawn first blood in four of their last six games across all competitions. Considering they tend to do so against Cambridge United, Luton should score first.

Highlights of the Cambridge v Luton FA Cup tie

Both teams have had their fair share of good defensive games recently; Cambridge United have kept four clean sheets in their last eight games, while Luton have three clean sheets in their last six games. Due to their good defense, both teams’ recent games have mostly been on the high-scoring side.

Four of Cambridge United’s last five, and four of Luton’s last six games went below the 2.5 goal margin. On that note, we shouldn’t expect too many goals here.
