Bournemouth put an end to their two game losing run by beating Barnsley last weekend; they’ve been one of the best teams in the Championship, and are in contention for promotion to the Premier League. Bournemouth will be eyeing their second consecutive win as they host National League side Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Boreham Wood have five wins in their last six games, they are unbeaten in their last 16 games in all competitions. The Wood defeated League One side AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the FA Cup; they’ll fancy their chances against Bournemouth today.

Live coverage of Bournemouth v Boreham Wood options

Bournemouth have had some mixed results over the past couple of months; they’ve won four, drawn three and lost five of their last 12 games. It’s fair to point out that Bournemouth have won just two of their last 12 games by more than one goal.

In contrast, Boreham Wood have been on fire lately; they’ve won five of their last six games. It’s even more impressive considering Boreham Wood have no losses in their last 16 games across all competitions.

Bournemouth play in the Championship, which is three tiers above the National League, where Boreham Wood play; considering both teams’ form, coupled with the fact that Bournemouth seldom win by more than one goal, we don’t think Boreham Wood will lose this game by more than one goal.

Bournemouth v Boreham Wood live commentary options

It’s been really difficult to stop Boreham Wood from scoring this season; they’ve found the net in their last six, and 24 of their last 25 games in all competitions. Three of Boreham Wood’s last four games have seen both teams scoring.

Similarly, Bournemouth have scored their fair share of goals; they’ve found the back of the net in five of their last six games. Conversely, Bournemouth have not been very good at keeping the goals out; they’ve allowed at least one goal in nine of their last 12 games.

Considering how consistently Boreham Wood have scored goals, they should be able to score against Bournemouth; and considering Bournemouth have scored nine goals in their last five games, Bournemouth should score as well.

Highlights of Bournemouth v Boreham Wood FA Cup tie

Both teams have been involved in a lot of low-scoring games recently; six of Bournemouth’s last nine games went below the 2.5 goal line, with four of those six games going under 1.5.

Similarly, Boreham Wood have had their fair share of low-scoring games; as six of their last seven games went under 2.5. On that note, our final pick for this game is under 2.5 total goals.
