Anderson, who is a two-time world champion, is competing in the final for the fifth time, so should handle the nerves a little better than first-time finalist Price.

However, the bookmakers still fancy Price to win his first crown, with “The Iceman” installed as the 8/11 favourite. Anderson is 11/10 to join Michael van Gerwen on three world titles.

Either player to win 7-6 in an epic final is a 7/2 shot with Sky Bet, which does not seem bad odds at all between two closely matched players to be honest.

Price has won five of the last seven meetings between the duo, though, and comes into the final in better form across the past year so is the rightful favourite.

Price’s tournament average is 97.95 compared to 97.41 for Anderson, so there is little to split the two in that regard, but Price’s 42 180’s and 43.85% checkout percentage are both considerably better than “The Flying Scotsman”.

The bookmakers consider the most likely outcome to be 7-4 or 7-5 to Price, with this valued at 7/1.

It’s 33/1 for a Price white-wash and 50/1 for an Anderson white-wash.

Either player to hit a 170 checkout is 3/1, with either player lighting up the final in style with a nine-dart finish considered an 8/1 shot.
