This will be the first encounter between these sides.
Forest Green Rovers are coming off their best ever campaign in the Football League; they finished first in League Two last season, with a total of 84 points from 46 matches.
As a result, the Green gained promotion to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history.
However, Forest Green’s League One campaign has not gone as smoothly as they expected; Ian Burchnall’s men kick-started their campaign with a win, but have no wins in three games since then, with a draw and two losses.
As a result, Forest Green find themselves in 20th place, just above the relegation zone.
We would like to point out that Forest Green Rovers knocked out Leyton Orient in the previous round of this tournament; they will hope to book a place in the next round by defeating Brighton and Hove Albion.
Brighton and Hove Albion have had an impressive start to their Premier League campaign; in three games, the Seagulls have two wins and a draw, including a shocking 2:1 win at Old Trafford.
What’s more Brighton have allowed just one goal in three games, which is the lowest number of goals conceded by any Premier League side; they are now fifth on the table, tied on points with second-place, and two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
With Graham Potter’s men making the trip to The New Lawn, they’ll look to maintain their unbeaten run this season.
As regards injuries, Harry Boyes, Matt Stevens and Udoka Godwin-Malife will be unavailable for the Green; on the other hand, Brighton and Hove Albion are coming into this game with a fully healthy team.
These teams are on opposite sides when it comes to form; while Brighton won five of their last seven games, Forest Green have no wins in their last three matches.
It’s also fair to mention that Brighton play two tiers above tonight’s opponents; and considering the Seagulls have been the best defensive side in the Premier League so far, we believe they’ll win whilst keeping a clean sheet.
With all this in mind ‘Brighton to win to nil’ pays at 6/5 odds.
