Burnley will look to take another stride towards automatic promotion on Friday afternoon when they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford in the Championship.

Scott Parker’s side remain level on points with leaders Leeds United at the top of the table and are unbeaten in 29 league matches following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Norwich City last time out.

The Clarets have been formidable all season, particularly in defence, having conceded just 13 goals in 42 league fixtures, a record that underlines their promotion credentials.

Watford, in contrast, appear set for another year in the second tier.

The Hornets suffered a 2-1 defeat away at West Brom in their previous outing and have struggled to find consistency throughout the campaign.

While a late surge up the table remains mathematically possible, their focus may now be shifting toward rebuilding for next season.

Burnley won the reverse fixture and will be hoping to complete the double as they look to take one of the automatic promotion spots.
