English Championship Outrights: Leeds to ‘secure title’ as Mitrovic claims Golden Boot

The English Championship has been as exciting as ever this season, with West Brom sitting top of the table just over the halfway stage.

But as always, several clubs are eyeing the title. Several other clubs are also vying for the automatic promotion spot, leaving no room for error as we head into the new year.

At the top, the Baggies find themselves three points clear of Leeds in second, having lost just once all season. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have won the same number of games as the leaders, but four league losses keeps them in the chasing pack.

West Brom are currently 6/5 to keep on track and clinch the title this season. Leeds are available at 10/11 to secure the trophy and make the move back into the top flight.

Brentford sit third in the table, and are currently 25/1 to move into first place come the end of the campaign. Sheffield Wednesday occupy fourth spot, and they’re currently 80/1 to finish the season strong and storm to top spot.

And it’s Fulham who complete the top five. They are 40/1 to clinch the title.

Preston and Nottingham Forest are huge outsiders to win the Championship at 150/1 and 200/1 respectively.

At the bottom, it’s Wigan and Barnsley who are struggling the most on just 20 points. They’ve both won just four games all season, drawing eight and losing 12. Barnsley are currently 8/11 to go down, with Wigan available at 3/4.

Also in danger of the drop are Luton. They’re currently 22nd in the league table, and are available at 5/6 to suffer from relegation.

Charlton are currently 11/4 to face the drop, with Huddersfield available at 7/2.

Former Premier League sides Middlesbrough and Stoke are also in real danger of relegation. The former can be backed at 4/1, with the latter currently 9/2.

Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic meanwhile has been in scintillating form this season, and sits top of the goalscoring charts with 18.

The Serbian is currently 8/13 to finish top of the pile come the end of the campaign.

His nearest competitor is Hull’s Jarrod Bowen and Brentford’s Ollie Watkins, who both have 15 for the season. Both are available at 7/1 to clinch the Championship Golden Boot this season.

Huddersfield’s Karlan Grant, Sheffield Wednesday’s Steven Fletcher and Forest’s Lewis Grabban all have 12 for the season. Grant and Grabban are currently 20/1 to finish the standings in first place, with Fletcher available at 50/1.
