On the positive side, the Hatters defeated fellow League Two side Harrogate Town in the previous round of this tournament; will they be able to upset the Foxes here?
Leicester City have gotten off to a slow start to their Premier League campaign; in three matches played, they have no wins, with a draw and two losses.
As a result, the Foxes find themselves in the relegation zone, with just one point from a possible nine.
Leicester City will make the trip to Edgeley Park on Tuesday evening; they’ll hope to get back on track with their first win of the season.
Although Leicester City’s squad remains largely intact, they’ve had some injury concerns in the backfield lately.
The Foxes will have to do without Ricardo Pereira, who picked up a knee injury in their final pre-season game; Wesley Fofana is also unavailable for selection, alongside Ryan Bertrand, who hasn’t played at all this year.
In like manner, Stockport County have their fair share of absentees ahead of this match; as Will Collar, Connor Jennings and Akil Wright will not be available for selection.
We would like to point out that these teams have squared off against each other three times since 2008; two of those encounters ended in stalemates, with Leicester City winning the other.
As regards goals, Stockport County have not had much trouble finding the back of the net; they scored in 10 of their last 11 matches, including their last seven.
While will be relatively harder for the Hatters to score against a Premier League side, it’s worth noting that Leicester City have not been able to keep the goals out; they’ve allowed eight goals in three league games so far, with two clean sheets in their last 12 matches.
Furthermore, Leicester City have scored in 14 consecutive games; and considering both teams scored in five of the Foxes’ last six games, we should expect goals at both ends.
