Declan Rice next club odds – Arsenal now favourites
Arsenal has made a third bid amounting to £105m for Declan Rice, the West Ham and England midfielder.
The bookies have been quick to react, with odds as short as around 1/6 for Rice to join Arsenal from West Ham.
Arsenal heavily backed
The Gunners had previously seen their two bids for the 24-year-old turned down as they fell short of West Ham’s £100m valuation.
However, it is now understood that the Hammers are not satisfied with the structure of the latest offer.
On Tuesday, West Ham also rejected a £90m bid from Manchester City, the treble winners, for Rice, who has a contract until 2024 with the option for a one-year extension until 2025.
If Arsenal’s bid, which includes an initial £100m plus £5m in add-ons, proves successful, the initial fee would match the British record that Manchester City paid for midfielder Jack Grealish.
In recent transfer news, England midfielder Jude Bellingham recently signed for Real Madrid in a deal initially valued at £88.5m, with the potential to rise to £115m with add-ons.
Rice, who made his debut for West Ham in the 2016-17 season after coming through the academy, has scored 15 goals in 245 games for the club.
He has also been capped 41 times by England, featuring in all five of their matches in the last World Cup.
