De Bruyne injury : Hamstring surgery could put star out for year
Manchester City‘s standout player, Kevin De Bruyne, might be headed for surgery following a hamstring injury he suffered in a recent game against Burnley.
The influential City midfielder could be sidelined for several months, potentially missing the remainder of the season.
While a definitive decision on the surgery is pending, it’s considered the optimal path forward for the Belgian ace.
“Kevin de Bruyne’s injury is a severe one. He’ll be sidelined for an extended period,” remarked City’s manager, Pep Guardiola.
While confirming that the final call on surgery hasn’t been made, Guardiola emphasized the inevitable lengthy absence of the playmaker.
Last season, the 32-year-old was indispensable for Manchester City, taking part in 49 matches across all tournaments.
The Belgian star faced a setback during the Champions League final against Inter Milan.
