Chisnall will be full of confidence after ending an astonishing 27 winless match run against Michael van Gerwen last night in sensational style by beating “Mighty Mike” 5-0.

Anderson, meanwhile, looked closer to his best when beating Dirk van Duijvenbode 5-1, but will need to up his game once again to overcome the in-form “Chizzy”.

Chisnall is the 8/11 favourite to reach his first final in this tournament, with the 2015 and 2016 champion Anderson 11/10 to reach his fifth final.

Statistically, there should only be one winner on Saturday evening, with Chisnall’s 101.64 average so far this tournament far superior to Anderson’s 96.26.

Chisnall is also converting doubles at a very solid rate of 45.96%, while he has hit the most 180’s in the tournament (38 to Anderson’s 20).

However, Anderson has beaten Chisnall 18 times with only four losses and a draw in response in the duo’s career meetings.

It’s fair to say Anderson was probably a better player in most of those meetings than he is now, though, with Chisnall displaying the form of his career.

The bookmakers consider the most likely outcome to be 6-3 or 6-4 to Chisnall at 6/1, which seems about right to me.

If you fancy it to go the distance, 6-5 to Chisnall is 7/1, with 6-5 to Anderson 8/1.
