Crystal Palace v Newcastle Tips & Prediction – Match Result and Goals the Selection

Crystal Palace will be looking to continue their fine home form at Selhurst Park as they entertain Steve Bruce’s Newcastle Utd.

Its a Friday night Premier League fixture that may not excite many but its one which I’m looking forward to and should kick off a bumper weekend of sport in the UK.

Roy Hodgeson’s Palace side demolished Leeds Utd in their last home game, running out 4-1 winners and there’s little doubt that the Eagles will be eying up another three points at home, but the stats don’t lie – its still only two wins in their last seven.

There were signs in their 1-0 Monday night loss to Burnley that without Wilfred Zaha, who again misses out tonight through Covid, the Eagles do miss that little spark of brilliance that can light up a match and open up defences.

Their opponents tonight, Newcastle come into the game on the back of two disappointing results, losing their last two games against Chelsea and Southampton by the scoreline of 2-0 and they haven’t won an away match in the Premier League since their opening 2-0 away win at West Ham.

The Magpies have a stinking record at Selhurst Park, not winning in their last five encounters and the bookies have probably priced this one up about right, with the Toon available at around 5/2 for the away win.

Its pretty clear that goals may be difficult to come by in this one, and with Palace making claims on taking all three points, we’re going down the goals scored market in this one.

The bookies price up Crystal Palace to win and under 2.5 goals at 10/3, and this looks like the bet for us tonight.

Goals maybe difficult to come by, but the Eagles should just have enough to fall over the line and take a narrow win tonight.
