Coral Eclipse Stakes Sandown : Tips, Odds and Live Stream
Its the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown as we run you through latest tips and odds on Saturday’s featured race.
Traditionally, we would refer to it as a two-horse race, but as we’ve witnessed before, that’s never the case.
Dubai Honour possesses impressive numbers and is likely to be a contender, but he has never demonstrated the same level of performance in this particular setting, having only competed abroad.
Paddington v Emily Upjohn
While it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if he were to emerge victorious, considering his form falls short of the top level at home, his break from racing and the weight disadvantage against the front two make him a less favorable choice.

West Wind Blows put up a good performance at Royal Ascot in the Group 2 Hardwicke, but that appears to be the pinnacle of his ability.
The race itself was relatively weak, with Pyledriver falling despite needing the run. West Wind Blows gives 10lb to Paddington, and with a rating 12lb lower, he faces an uphill battle of 22lb to make up.
When considering the combined 12lb difference for jockey Emily, it becomes evident that West Wind Blows is outmatched and lacks the necessary experience for this level of competition.
In terms of the numbers and straightforward analysis, Paddington appears to be the clear favorite for victory.
This is primarily due to the weight advantage received, and the current market reflects this with odds of 8/11.
While both contenders’ previous performances may raise some doubts, it’s worth noting that Emily Upjohn has shown promising form against several strong horses.
Notably, she has competed against Group 1 winners in open company, such as Westover, whom she made look ordinary despite finishing second to Equinox.
Furthermore, I remain unconvinced by the form displayed by the three-year-olds thus far. Despite Paddington’s impressive showing at Ascot, I still have reservations in my mind.
It’s worth considering that Paddington started racing back in March, primarily winning handicaps.
This upcoming race will serve as a crucial test of his abilities against tougher competition.
