Chelsea v Crystal Palace odds : Punters back Blues to extend winning run
Chelsea will be looking to make it six Premier League wins on the bounce when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.
By then the Stamford Bridge faithful should have recovered from Tuesday’s eight goal thriller with Ajax.
The Blues came from 4-1 down to draw four all in the Champions League group stage leaving Frank Lampard’s side well in the hunt for a place in the last 16.
But it’s back to domestic action at the weekend and a win will lift Chelsea up to second in the Premier League, for a few hours at least.
Eight points behind Chelsea in fourth and seven points above the drop zone Crystal Palace are doing pretty much what most people expected at the start of the season; consolidating themselves as a mid table team.
Back to back home defeats against Manchester City and Leicester and a draw away at Arsenal show there’s still plenty of work to do if they’re going to compete with the league’s big boys week in week out.
Chelsea have won their last three encounters against Palace, with two of those wins seeing both teams to score. It’s 15/8 for both teams to score and Chelsea to win.
Tammy Abraham ended a run of four games without a goal scoring the opener against Watford last weekend. And the striker, who has 10 goals to his name so far this season, is 3/1 to score first against Palace.
Summer signing Christian Pulisic was also on the scoresheet at Watford, netting his fourth goal in two games, and the American finally looks to have found his feet in the premier League. He’s 21/10 to score anytime.
Only Watford and Newcastle have scored fewer league goals than Palace this season, so it’s clear to see where their issues lie. Jordan Ayew has four goals to his name and he’s 7/2 to score anytime.
It’s no surprise to see Chelsea as short as 1/3 to claim another victory, while Palace are 19/2 to bag all three points. The draw is available at 9/2.
