Bristol City finally got their first league win of the season last time out, winning away at Reading 3-2, a result which will have at least for now eased the pressure building on boss Nigel Pearson. The Robins started well, and raced to a two goal lead before Austrian striker Andreas Weimann bagged the winner in the second half.
The win at Reading midweek will have given the home side a much welcomed confidence boost coming into this one, having gone on an awful run without a win going back to last season. They will at least meet a Swansea side who themselves are looking a little lost following the departure of Steve Cooper during the summer.
The Swans are yet to win so far this season and suffered an embarrassing 3-1 home defeat to Stoke City at the newly named ‘Swansea.com’ Stadium, with former player Sam Clucas coming back to haunt his former club with a goal and an inspired performance.
New boss Russell Martin looks like he has plenty of work to do coming into this one with the Swans defence all over the place at the back, and gifting Stoke plenty of opportunities to mount dangerous counter attacks.
The 6/5 on the home win could be one of the bets of the season coming into this one, with two sides on seemingly different trajectories in the Championship at the moment. Russell Martin did wonders at the MK Dons, playing some attractive passing football but his transition to Swansea may take some time. And time and money is something Swansea do not have in abundance at the moment.
Skybet have Bristol City to score two goals at 5/2 and that looks worthy of a punt, considering how sharp Bristol City striker Andreas Weimann looked in his previous outing and considering how bad Swansea looked at the back last Tuesday.
Those looking for an outside bet could do worse than back Bristol City to score 3 or more goals, which is available at 16/1.
