Its all to play for tonight after Swansea yet gain succumbed to another defeat at home to Preston yesterday, leaving the door ajar for Brentford to make a significant challenge on the automatic promotion spot held by Watford.
The Hornets drew with Middlesbrough which gave them a ten point lead over third placed Brentford. The Bees do have two games in hand however, so maximum points tonight would make things very interesting as we head to the tail end of the season.
Three consecutive draws have hindered Brentford’s promotion push but there is plenty of optimism heading into this one with Swansea faltering. There’s still an outside chance that Brentford can catch Watford in second place.
This is an important match for Birmingham for entirely different reasons with the Midlands outfit hovering over the relegation zone in 21st place. Only six points separates Birmingham from Rotherham, who take the final relegation place.
Any sort of result would be seen as a bonus, however it will be a tough ask considering Birmingham have lost their last two away trips without scoring a single goal.
