Luton, meanwhile, continue to punch above their weight and arrive on the south coast off the back of a four-game drawing streak, showing how tough Nathan Jones’ side are to beat.
The 48-year-old returned to the Hatters in May 2020 after a disastrous eight-month spell with Stoke City came to an end in November 2019.
The Welshman has worked wonders in Bedfordshire, stabilising them in League Two before guiding them to within the cusp of promotion to the Championship prior to departing for the Midlands.
Jones will be fully aware of the test that awaits his side against Bournemouth on Saturday, however, with Parker’s side looking every inch an automatic promotion contender to return to the Premier League at the second season of asking.
Despite losing star man Arnaut Danjuma for £21m to Villarreal towards the end of August, the former Fulham boss has brilliantly fixed his new team’s left-hand side in the shape of two 21-year-old academy graduates.
Jordan Zemura, who scored twice in a recent win against Barnsley, is already arguably the best attacking left-back in the division, consistently superbly overlapping former Arsenal youth player Jaidon Anthony.

Dominic Solanke’s finishing has noticeably improved, too, with the former Liverpool man joint-third in the top goalscorer charts with five goals from only 18 shots in total.
That conversion rate compares favourably to his main Golden Boot competitor Aleksandar Mitrovic, for example, who has scored six goals from 27 shots. One of those goals came from the penalty spot, too, unlike Solanke.
Luton, of course, lost their own primary source of goals from recent years with Danny Collins’ summer exit to Cardiff City. The 30-year-old top scored for the Hatters in three of his four seasons at the club, scoring 68 league goals in total.
Many felt Collins’ departure would result in Luton dropping down the table, but so far the likes of Cameron Jerome, Harry Cornick and Elijah Odebayo have managed to fill the void in what is an incredibly difficult team to beat.
However, given the amount of firepower at Bournemouth’s disposal and their own combative defensive and midfield options, the odds are clearly stacked against the away side avoiding defeat for the fifth successive game on Saturday.
For Bournemouth, nothing less than a win will guarantee them remaining top of the pops.
