Its been all change at Bournemouth during the summer, with Jonathon Woodgate departing the club after an agonising playoff defeat. Ex Fulham boss Scott Parker has been brought in as he looks to take the Cherries back to the top tier of English football.
There have been a few changes in personnel over the last few weeks with veteran goalkeeper Asmar Begovic leaving for Everton, as has Diego Rico to Sociedad.
Emiliano Marcondes has been brought in on a free from Brentford, while Scott Parker can still rely on David Brooks, Arnaut Danjuma and former England under 21 striker Dominic Solanke to lead the line.
Much will be rest on the shoulders of the youngster, who hit 15 goals in 40 games in the Championship. If the Cherries are to get back to the Premier League then Solanke surely has to have a decent season.
Their opponents West Brom have also rung the changes during the off season. The Baggies were relegated from the Premier League last May, finishing in a lowly 19th place. Sam Allardyce has long departed, as has Kieron Gibbs and Charlie Austin.
A new man has come in at the the helm, Valerian Ismael, and the Frenchman will look to build on the success he managed at Barnsley last season, taking the Tykes to the playoffs with only a shoe string budget to play with.
Both of these sides are expected to go close this season, and tonight’s game could see one of these set out a Championship marker so early in the season.
Bournemouth are the favourites to take all three points, but they can be backed at odds against at 11/10, while West Brom look more than worth a wager at 2/1.
Those who fancy the stalemate can get odds of 12/5.
Strap yourself in, the Championship is back tonight folks.
