Lewis Cook then sent the home side into a 3-2 lead, with Solanke grabbing a second late on to secure a dramatic 4-2 victory.
The Cherries sat top of the table for a brief period after that win, but moved back into second after Norwich won 1-0 at Middlesbrough later in the afternoon.
Nonetheless, it has been a very strong start to life away from the Premier League for Jason Tindall’s men. They now have six wins, five draws and just one loss in the Championship this season.
That puts them on 23 points, just one behind the leaders.
Forest meanwhile are struggling in 20th. The club have just three wins all season, but on a positive note, two of those victories have come this month.
Chris Hughton replaced Sabri Lamouchi in October, with the latter sacked after a disappointing start to the campaign.
Hughton has helped to somewhat steady the ship, with Forest beating Coventry and Wycombe at the beginning of November.
But that two-game winning run ended on Saturday in a 2-0 loss at Barnsley.
Hughton has another chance to kickstart the club’s season under the lights on Tuesday evening, but an uphill task awaits on the south coast.
Bournemouth v Nottingham Prediction
Bournemouth have been given odds of 4/5 to come out on top.
An away victory can be backed at 4/1.
A draw is currently available at 13/5.
Danjuma and Solanke extended their goal tallies for the season to five and four respectively at the weekend, and they will both be keen to add to those on Tuesday.
The former can be backed at 5/1 to score the game’s opening goal, with the latter available at 4/1.
And ex-Bournemouth man Lewis Grabban has been given odds of 15/2 to score first.
