Bookies favourite to win Premier League
The Premier League season is not that far away now as the UK bookmakers release their odds on who will lift the trophy.
It was a two horse race last season with Manchester City pipping Liverpool to the title on the last day of the season. Will we see another closely fort contest?
What are the odds to win the Premier League?
It seems to be another two horse race according to the bookmaker odds, with Liverpool and Manchester City both out in front at the top of the betting, at odds of 4/7 and 5/2 respectively.
Next in the betting comes Tottenham, which just goes to show the gulf between Liverpool, Manchester City, and the rest ofAntonithe chasing pack.
Manchester City to win outright – 4-7
There’s no surprise to see Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side top the betting to win the Premier League.
The arrival of Erling Haaland, one of the hottest strikers in European football at the moment has simply enhanced their squad but it may take some time for the big Norwegian to fit in with the Man City system of playing.
The addition of Kalvin Phillips from Leeds Utd should also bolster the midfield.
There’s little doubt that Guardiola will have one eye on the ultimate prize of the Champions League which has so far eluded the Spaniard.
Raheem Sterling may have joined Chelsea in the summer but the Citizens are still the team to beat, but their short odds may put a few people off.
Liverpool odds to finish in top 2 – 5/2
Second place in the betting is Liverpool and the bookmakers expect there to be bit more of a gap in the table this time around. Sadio Mane has left for Bayern Munich which is a big blow to the Reds.
Luiz Diaz has impressed since his arrival but he has big shoes to fill.
Mohammed Salah has signed a new deal at Anfield which should settle all the background noise surrounding the Egyptian, while Darwin Nunez has arrived in the summer and already looks a threat going forward.
This still may not be enough to overcome City, but another steady season of Champion league qualification for Liverpool.
Tottenham each way odds 12/1 make an appeal?
Tottenham could prove to be one of the surprise packages this season with Antonio Conte’s arrival as manager last December proving to be the right decision.
Daniel Levy has done well to manage to snare Richarlison from Everton during the summer.
As well as the attacking force of Son Heung-min (who shared the Golden Boot with Salah last season) and Harry Kane, Spurs should have no problems finding the net.
The side looks well balanced and settled, with Conte continuing with his 3-4-3 formation.
12/1 looks plenty big enough to attract each way value.
Chelsea Premier League title contenders at 16/1?
Thomas Tuchel will be hoping the Blues can replicate the beginning of last season, with Chelsea looking to be genuine Premier League title contenders before a slide and a dip in form of Romelu Lukaku put pay to any domestic silverware.
Lukaku has now been loaned back to Italy and the side has been strengthened with the arrival of Raheem Sterling.
Ben Chilwell should be back to full fitness and with Reece James along the other flank Chelsea have some of the best wing backs in the country.
If Chelsea can find their form of the early part of last season they will be tough to beat.
